As Seen in the NZ Herald: Flock's Work in the Spotlight

We were thrilled to be featured in the NZ Herald recently, with journalist Janhavi Gosavi covering two storm-grounded seabirds that came through Flock's care during Wellington's wild weather.

The birds, a mottled petrel found in Alicetown and a fairy prion from Upper Hutt, were both grounded by the conditions and needed immediate assessment and supportive care before being cleared through H5N1 quarantine protocols and transferred to The Nest Te Kōhanga at Wellington Zoo via Tony Stoddard at Kererū Discovery.

It was a good reminder of how wildlife rehabilitation in Wellington works best as a network. No single facility can do everything, and getting birds to the right place at the right time is as important as the care itself.
