Sweet Boi Came to Us From a Local Vet Clinic 💕

This gorgeous pigeon arrived from a local vet clinic with a fractured wing, all neatly bandaged and ready for the next chapter of their recovery. We love when vets and rescues work together like this — it's how birds get the best possible outcome.

How Our Vet Partnership Works

All of our cases are overseen by Avian Empire, our partner vet team who specialise in birds. When a bird comes in needing initial medical care that's beyond our scope, they go to a vet first. Once they're stabilised and ready for supportive care and rehabilitation, they come to us. It's a team effort — and it works.

Wing Fractures: The Long Road to Recovery

Wing fractures need time, quiet, and careful management. The wing is wrapped to immobilise it while the bone heals, and we check circulation regularly to make sure everything is okay. Once the fracture has healed, the real work begins — building up flight muscles and confidence before the bird is ready to go home.

This one was an absolute sweetheart throughout the whole process. The best patients always are. 🐦
